Richardson Signs Worcestershire Contract Extension

Worcestershire fast bowler Alan Richardson has signed a one-year contract extension that should see him remain at New Road until the end of the 2013 season. Richardson, 36, joined Worcestershire in 2009 and has taken 39 County Championship wickets this season - in joint second place overall.

Matt Mason Announces Immediate Retirement

Worcestershire fast bowler Matthew Mason has announced his immediate retirement from professional cricket, ending a ten-year spell on the playing staff at New Road. He will remain with the county as a bowling coach, ending his first-class career with 314 wickets at an average of 26.91.

Worcestershire have beaten off compettion from other counties to sign former Lancashire and Cambridge University's Adrian Shankar. Shankar, 26, has signed a two-year deal at New Road following a winter in which he starred in the Sri Lankan Mercantile League.

Ben Scott Returns To Worcestershire On Loan

Worcestershire and Middlesex have secured a deal that will see wicket-keeper Ben Scott head back to New Road on loan for a minimum of a month with options to extend the contract. Scott featured in seven first-class matches for Worcestershire during a loan spell in 2010 and he is set to join up with the squad for their match against Warwickshire which begins tomorrow (11th May).

Moeen Ali Signs New Worcestershire Contract

Worcestershire batsman Moeen Ali has signed a new two-year contract extension that will keep him at New Road until the end of the 2013 season. The new contract comes after a prolific 2010 season in which he scored 1,260 first-class runs and more than 800 in other competitions, going on to represent the England Lions.

Shakib Al Hasan To Return To Worcestershire

Bangladesh captain and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is set to join up with Worcestershire for a second spell, during June and July of this season's county season. He took 35 wickets in eight matches for Worcestershire in 2010 and is the third overseas signing made by Worcestershire following the impending arrivals of Damien Wright and Saeed Ajmal.

Worcestershire have announced the signing of Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal as their overseas player for the second part of the 2011 season. Ajmal, who has played nine Tests, 35 One-Day Internationals and 29 Twenty20 Internationals, will take over from Australian Damien Wright.

Worcestershire have signed experienced Australian all-rounder Damien Wright as their overseas player for the start of the 2011 season. Victorian Wright, who has previously enjoyed spells with Glamorgan, Northamptonshire, Somerset and Sussex, will join up with Worcestershire in time for their opening LV= County Championship match against Yorkshire which gets underway on 8th April.
