Tourism Australia has launched a brand new ‘Go Ashes’ app ahead of the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11 that will start on 25 November in Brisbane.

As well as in-depth destination information on the five host cities and beyond (including bespoke videos featuring Aussie cricketing legends Michael Bevan, Justin Langer, Chris Hartley, Darren Lehmann and Damien Fleming), team news and live updates, the ‘Go Ashes’ app will give one lucky winner the chance to win an incredible trip to the Brisbane Test.

To enter, players need to score a century by answering questions on both cricket and Australia. There are two questions daily and the winner will receive a two week trip Down Under for two people including return flights, accommodation, a fantastic tourism experience and a five day Gold category ticket to see the Ashes at the Brisbane Test.

Tourism Australia General Manager (UK and Europe), Rodney Harrex, says:

“We look forward to welcoming English fans to Australia for the Ashes Series later this year. Our new app is a must-download for anyone travelling to the country – both for the cricket and for those who want an insider guide to Australia. Attending an Aussie sporting event of this calibre as part of an Aussie holiday is an incredible thing to do. We would encourage the travelling fans to have a go at some iconic Aussie experiences while they’re down there such as learning to surf, wine tasting and beach cricket. Getting to the outback is a must-do too.”

The app is free and can be found here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/go-ashes/id382558102?mt=8
