Tremlett Ruled Out Of Edgbaston Test Match
England fast bowler Chris Tremlett has been ruled out of the third Test against India at Edgbaston having failed a fitness test due to a back injury.
Tremlett played in England's 196-run win over India in the first Test at Lord's before succumbing to the injury which saw him miss out at Trent Bridge, where England won by 313 runs.
Tremlett has been unable to practise for the last two days and his continued absence could see England go into the third Test with an unchanged bowling attack.
They have already been forced into making one change due to Jonathan Trott's shoulder injury with Ravi Bopara expected to make his comeback after nearly two years.
Steven Finn was called up to the squad ahead of the second Test as cover for Tremlett and he remains with the squad in Birmingham.
The England & Wales Cricket Board said on its website (www.ecb.co.uk) that Tremlett "will receive ongoing treatment ahead of the fourth Test."
The fourth Test at Tremlett's home ground of The Oval, begins on 18th August.
