All-rounder Kirk Wernars as well as fast bowlers Amjad Khan and Naveed Arif could all make their Sussex debuts during the season-opening LV= County Championship game against Lancashire at Liverpool.

All three signed in the close season, with England-capped international Khan joining from Kent to boost the county's chances as they bid to build on their 2010 season, which saw them promoted from Division Two.

Bookmakers make them 10/1 to win the title - as they did in 2003, 2006 and 2007, although they are 4/1 to go down.

Pakistan international Rana Naved-ul-Hasan is welcomed back as he begins his second stint as overseas player while Murray Goodwin will lead the side in the absence of Michael Yardy.
