Tudor Gets Ready For Barbados Trip

Essex fast bowler Alex Tudor will lead an Under-16 team to Barbados as Head Coach in February.

Tudor has been spending his winter taking coaching sessions for young cricketers in east London as part of the ‘First Class Cricket Coaching’ set-up.

The 29-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract with Essex keeping him at the County until the end of the 2008 season, will take a 15-strong group of young cricketers to Barbados from February 11-18.

Tudor told the Essex CCC website (www.essexcricket.org.uk): “I’m very much looking forward to the trip. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the kids to sample a different culture, play on different wickets and to gauge where they are against other players of the same age.”

Essex Academy players Alan Ison and Rishabh Shah are among the touring party with Middlesex batsman Owais Shah joining Tudor on the coaching side.

Meanwhile, fellow Essex players Andy Flower and Grant Flower have also leant their assistance to First Class Cricket Coaching’ as they develop their own coaching careers.
