Tyron Henderson Signs New Contract At Middlesex

South African all-rounder Tyron Henderson has signed a one-year extension to his contract at Middlesex, subject to an extension to his current work permit.

The new deal will keep him at the club until September 2009.

Henderson helped Middlesex to their Twenty20 Cup success and has taken more wickets (60) than any other player in the history of Twenty20 cricket and is looking forward to helping Middlesex compete in the Super Series in Antigua.

"It's been a fantastic year for me at Middlesex, and with such an exciting, talented young squad, I'm really looking forward to our winter tournaments in Antigua and India, and to helping Middlesex achieve more silverware in 2009," he told Middlesex's website (www.middlesexccc.com).

The news is a welcome boost for Middlesex, who have been dogged with rumours surrounding the identity of next year's captain with Angus Fraser said to be interested in the position of Managing Director.
