UAE 50-1 (Arfan Haider 29no) beat
Uganda 49 (Qadar Nawaz 4-16, Ahmed Raza 2-2) by nine wickets
One-day game, Sharjah
Uganda collapsed to 36 for five before they hung on to draw with the United Arab Emirates in their Intercontinental Shield encounter but they slumped to 49 all out in the first one-day game in Sharjah against the same opponents.
UAE then needed just six overs to pass Uganda's total, which took them 29.4 overs to achieve as Qadar Nawaz picked up four for 16.
Benjamin Musoke top scored for Uganda with 12, the only player for the African side to reach double figures as Nawaz returned four wickets and both Amjad Javed and Ahmed Raza took two apiece.
In reply, Mohammad Iqbal (12) was the man to be dismissed while Arfan Haider thumped an unbeaten 29 in 18 balls to ensure the home side cruised home with 44 overs to spare.
The two sides now meet in two Twenty20 games on 26th and 27th January.
