Uncapped Guptill Replaces How In New Zealand Squad

Uncapped batsman Martin Guptill has replaced Jamie How in New Zealand's One Day International squad for the final two matches against the West Indies while all-rounder Jacob Oram misses out through injury.

How has struggled for form recently, failing to score in New Zealand's seven-wicket win in Wellington while Oram has been released from the squad to recover from injury.

"Martin really impressed on the tours to Australia and India last year with the Emerging Players and New Zealand A," head of the selection panel Glenn Turner said in a statement.

"He's continued that form this summer since coming back from injury at the start of the season."

The series is level at 1-1 after the opening match was washed out with matches taking place in Auckland on January 10th and Napier on January 13th.

New Zealand: Daniel Vettori (captain), Neil Broom, Grant Elliott, Daniel Flynn, Mark Gillespie, Martin Guptill, Brendon McCullum, Kyle Mills, Jeetan Patel, Jesse Ryder, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor
