England captain Alastair Cook says he is expecting nothing less than a tough battle during the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford despite his side already leading the series 2-0.
He was quick to play down talk of moving into a 3-0 lead and sealing the series at the earliest possible opportunity and expects more hard work against the Australians.
"We have put ourselves in a good position in the series but in those two games we have had to work very hard throughout those 10 days of cricket and it will not change in this Test match," he said.
"We know how hard it is to get a Test match win. We have put ourselves in a good position but that counts for nothing going into tomorrow's play."
He also confirmed that the team were hopeful over Kevin Pietersen's fitness after the batsman trained ahead of the game.
