England batsman Kevin Pietersen looks like he is winning his battle to be fit for the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford after he trained 24 hours ahead of the match.
His participation had been in doubt after he suffered a calf strain during the second Test at Lord's, which England won by 347 runs to go 2-0 up in the series.
He sat out the end of the match but has returned to action as the squad completes their build-up to the third Test, which begins tomorrow (1st August).
England captain Alastair Cook says a decision on whether Pietersen will play in the match will be made early on the morning of the match.
