Former Indian captain and opening batsman Sunil Gavaskar talks about the role that his 'God-given' powers of concentration played in his career at the highest level of the game.
He attributes his ability to concentrate in this way as a huge factor in making it possible for him to bat for long periods of time.
In this exclusive interview with Cricket World, he says that without such powers of concentration, he would have made many more mistakes, and in the vast majority of cases, when a batsman makes a mistake, he is dismissed.
Gavaskar captained India between 1976 and 1985, scoring 34 Test centuries during his career which saw him represent his country 233 times.
