Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris says he will be fit to face Pakistan later this year following a successful operation on his right knee.
He underwent the surgery to clean out the joint following the Test series win in South Africa and is aiming to be back in action ahead of a scheduled series against Pakistan in October.
Although he is scheduled to be on the sidelines for six months or more following his latest injury, he is adamant that he is not coming towards the end of his career.
The 34-year-old said: "It's nowhere near my career over, I did this to prolong it more than anything.
"You know, my knee's damaged, probably a little bit more damaged from the last time they went in probably a few years ago, but it's still a good knee and what I put up with in those last few weeks I can probably put up with just about anything now."
He added that he has already set himself the target of playing against Pakistan.
"I'm already looking forward to getting back and you know hopefully the Pakistan tour, that's my goal and a very realistic goal."
