Netherlands batsman Tim Gruijters has released a video on YouTube in which he claims that the Dutch bent the rules to replace him in their ICC World Twenty20 squad with Tom Cooper.
With Cooper available to play in the World Twenty20 after South Australia failed to qualify for the Sheffield Shield final, Gruijters alleges that he was 'bullied' into undergoing a scan on his back.
This scan was then given to the ICC Event Technical Committee which allowed the Dutch to make the late change to their squad.
While he admits he is carrying a back injury, he says it is not something that has stopped him playing and that if anything, he feels his back is as good as it has been for some time.
The description posted alongside the video read as follows:
"It is NOT my intention to sabbotage (sic) the 2014 T20 World Cup, but it is in all our interests to keep the game of cricket clean.
"Following my forced exit from the competition, to stop the rumours, and clear my conscience, I have posted this video."
The Netherlands lost both of their warm-up matches, to Afghanistan and Hong Kong, failing to pass 100 runs in either match and begin their campaign against the United Arab Emirates tomorrow (17th March).
