New Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chief Executive Officer Haroon Lorgat says he is 'saddened' by what he says is his 'poor relationship' with the Indian cricket board.
Lorgat clashed with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during his time as International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive and commented on the relationship during his first press conference in his new job.
"It's probably right for me not to speak much on this subject except for me to say I was particularly saddened by the inferences that were made," he said.
"I didn't expect such a poor relationship to have emanated after I left the ICC. Without a doubt, I've got strong relationships with people in the BCCI as well and I will do my level best to understand what the issues are with those who are not happy with whatever it is with myself, personally.
"If I need to sit across the table, go to India, whatever it takes."
Such was the ill-feeling between the Indian board and Lorgat that BCCI officials made no secret of their reluctance to see Lorgat succeed Gerald Majola at CSA.
