Video - Root On 'Special' Lord's Century

England batsman Joe Root says his unbeaten century on day one of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Lord's was a special one.

His 102 not out in 190 balls helped the home side close on 344 for five having earlier been 120 for four.

He says that you can't beat the feeling of reaching three figures at the home of cricket, but the team had to work hard to get into a strong position.

He also pays tribute to Matthew Prior, unbeaten alongside him on 76, as both players made their return to the side following a 'tough winter'.

And he hopes that he can go on and make his third Test century into 'a big one' on day two.
