In this exclusive video interview, Sir Viv Richards looks back with fond memories of his early days as an international cricketer, when a young side was laying the foundations for dominating the world game.
When he first joined the side, he was playing alongside players like Clive Lloyd, Roy Fredericks and Alvin Kallicharran that he looked up to.
Those players helped him greatly in the early stages of his career.
However, when they headed to India in 1974 and then went on to Australia, he says they were essentially a 'bunch of rookies'.
They won a series 3-2 in India but were thumped in Australia.
It was in Australia where Lloyd was first inspired that the way to dominate would be to find pace bowlers of the quality of Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thomson - which the West Indies went on to do.
And as Sir Viv says, 'the rest is history...'
