Warwickshire Cricket Board's OSCA's Ceremony
Last night, in the Edgbaston Cricket Centre, the Warwickshire Cricket Board held their own Outstanding Services to Cricket Awards. The awards were presented by Warwickshire CCC player Jim Troughton.
Every year NatWest hold a National OSCA’s Ceremony at Lord’s. As not all of the 8 Warwickshire nominees were able to make the occasion the WCB decided to honour them at Edgbaston to thank them for their contribution to the game.
The Warwickshire CCC nominees and those presented to last night are as follows :

John Askew Massey Ferguson CC Building Partnerships
Hugh Cherry WSCA Lifetime Achievement

Sue Crofts Parent Behind the Scenes
Mike Fletcher Coventry Spinx Behind the Scenes
There was also a presentation to Handsworth CC who received the Club of the Year Award for their developments and achievements over the last year which include their first team being promoted to the Warwickshire Cricket League division 1 and their Under 14 squad winning the Lord’s Taverners Intercities Cup.
Eton Gordon, Youth Co-ordinator at Handsworth CC said, “It is a great honour to receive such a prestigious award especially amongst so many other clubs. It is a positive acknowledgment for the community of Handsworth.”
Walmley CC received the Club Development Initiative Awards and Colin Whitehall and Brian Goodall both received awards for Outstanding Service to the Warwickshire Cricket Board.
Richard Cox, Director of the WCB, said, “Every person recognized last night has made a huge difference to cricket in the Warwickshire area and I hope their contributions long continue. It is dedicated people like these who deserve to be rewarded for their commitment and services to the game and the county.”
