Warwickshire's Groenewald Maintains Sixes Lead

Tim Groenewald remains at the top of the Sky Sports Sixes League as weather played havoc with last weekend’s fixtures.

Groenewald’s eight sixes from 39 deliveries see him ahead of Surrey’s Ali Brown by virtue of facing fewer balls. David Sales of Northants is third with seven maximums, with Rikki Clarke of Surrey fourth on six.

The Sky Sports Sixes League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the top ten batsmen that have hit the most sixes in Friends Provident, Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40 matches. It provides batsmen with another incentive for big-hitting with £2,000 and the sixes trophy for the winner, plus awards for each month’s big hitter.

The league has become a hugely popular element of Sky’s cricket coverage, with league table is featured on Sky’s domestic cricket coverage, Cricket AM and on skysports.com/sixes. It is also published each Wednesday in Daily Express.
