Ireland v South Africa
Match abandoned without a ball bowled
Women’s 50-Over Tri-Series, Match 2, Doha
Rain in Doha meant that the second match in the Qatar International Women’s Cricket Championship was abandoned without a ball bowled.
Ireland would have been hoping to bounce back against the Proteas after yesterday’s humbling at the hands of nominal hosts Pakistan, but the weather intervened, leaving them with just a single point from their first two matches. South Africa, meanwhile, will have the chance to treble their haul from today’s washout when they take on Pakistan tomorrow.
Tomorrow’s game marks the halfway point of the group stage, with the teams playing each other again before the final on 17th January. The same three sides will then contest a tri-series of Twenty20 Internationals.
