Wayamba 144-6 (Mubarak 30, Mason 2-16) beat
Central Districts 70 (Mendis 3-14, Udana 3-22) by 74 runs
Champions League Group A, Port Elizabeth

Wayamba ended their Champions League campaign with a crushing 74-run victory - their only success of the tournament - over Central Districts, who slumped to a fourth straight loss.

After making a competitive score of 144 for six, in which captain Jehan Mubarak top scored with 30, Wayamba dismissed Central Districts for a meagre 70 in 15.3 overs.

Making useful contributions for the Sri Lankans along with Mubarak were Mahela Jayawardene, who hit 20, Mahela Udawatte, who made 23 and Shalika Karunanayake, who smashed an unbeaten 15 in 13 balls.

Michael Mason returned two for 16 for Central Districts while there was a wicket apiece for Mitchell McClenaghan, George Worker, Kieran Noema-Barnett and Jamie How.

Only four players could then reach double figures as Isuru Udana and Ajantha Mendis shared six wickets to condemn the New Zealand team to a comprehensive defeat.

Wicket-keeper Bevan Griggs top scored with 19, Brendon Diamanti hit 12 while How and Noema-Barnett made ten apiece.

Udana returned three for 22, Mendis three for 14 - the pair of them opening the bowling to good effect - with Rangana Herath (2-7), Tissara Perera (1-13) and Kaushal Lokuarachchi (1-7) also claiming wickets.
