The West Indies have called up uncapped leg-spinner Samuel Badree to a 13-man squad to play New Zealand in two Twenty20 Internationals in Florida.
Badree is set to be given a run in the team as the West Indies build towards the ICC World Twenty20 2012 with the games, scheduled for 30th June and 1st July.
“The team is well-balanced and has been selected with the Twenty20 World Cup in mind," chief selector Clyde Butts said.
"Looking at the team, we expect this side to do very well against New Zealand, as our preparation for the World Cup continues.
"Badree has been a consistent performer in regional tournaments over a period of time and the selectors felt it was the right time to introduce him to the team," he added.
In 39 Twenty20 matches for Trinidad & Tobago and West Indies 'A', Badree has taken 38 wickets at an average of 15.50 and economy rate of 4.40.
