23-year-old uncapped all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has been included in the West Indies' 15-man One-Day International squad to tour Bangladesh in October.

After Ramnaresh Sarwan was a late withdrawal due to injury, left-handed opening batsman Kieran Powell was also added to the squad, which will play three One-Day Internationals on 13th, 15th and 18th October.

Brathwaite has played eight first-class matches (scoring 265 runs and taking 19 wickets at 19.46 apiece) and a Twenty20 game for Combined Campuses and Colleges and Barbados respectively but is yet to play a representative one-day match.

The West Indies, currently in England for two Twenty20 Internationals at The Oval, will open their month-long tour of Bangladesh with two practice matches on 7th and 9th October and a Twenty20 International on 11th October.

Two Test matches are also scheduled to be played, starting on 21st and 29th October.

Trinidad & Tobogo wicket-keeper Denesh Ramdin makes a return both squads having been dropped prior to the World Cup and he replaces Carlton Baugh and also missing from the squad that was originally named to play India earlier this year are Kirk Edwards, Christopher Barnwell and Dwayne Bravo.

Off-spinner Shane Shillingford has also been named in the Test squad as well as opener Kraigg Brathwaite.

The long-running stand-off between Chris Gayle and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) appears to be closer to resolution after he turned down a deal to represent Somerset in the Friends Life t20. He has made himself available for selection by the West Indies during the One-Day International and Twenty20 International series they play against England.
