The West Indies have named a youthful 14-man squad for the first Test against South Africa in Trinidad, which gets underway on 10th June.

Batsmen Adrian Barath, Ramnaresh Sarwan and fast bowlers Fidel Edwards and Jerome Taylor miss out due to injury and into the squad come uncapped players Darren Bravo, Nelon Pascal and Shane Shillingford.

Bravo and Pascal have played limited overs cricket for the West Indies but not featured in Test cricket.

Left-hand batsman Bravo was involved during the ODI series, which the West Indies lost 5-0, while quick bowler Pascal and off-spinner Shillingford have, like Bravo, been in good form for West Indies A on a recent tour of Bangladesh.

Chris Gayle will lead the side with Dwayne Bravo as his deputy.

West Indies Test squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Dwayne Bravo (vice-captain), Sulieman Benn, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Narsingh Deonarine, Travis Dowlin, Brendan Nash, Nelon Pascal, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Shane Shillingford
