The West Indies have been given the all clear ahead of their tour of Zimbabwe where they will play five one-day internationals in late November and early December.

A security report gave the go ahead for the trip to the troubled African country which is not currently competing in Test match cricket.

"The decision to proceed was based on a favourable report from an independent security firm," said a statement from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).

"The West Indies Players' Association and West Indies Cricket Board have agreed the tour should proceed but will continually monitor the situation in Zimbabwe from the perspective of safety, security and food integrity."

The West Indies will travel to South Africa after the series of one-dayers in Bulawayo and Harare for three Tests, five one-day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals.

The news is a shot in the arm for Zimbabwean cricket after Cricket South Africa's attempts to include them in the SuperSport four-day series was curtailed at the last moment.
