Bangladesh made their way to the Plate Final in the Under-19 World Cup by beating Papua New Guinea while New Zealand beat England to finish seventh overall.

Bangladesh will face Ireland in the Final after they were bowled out for 253 only to hit back by dismissing PNG for 95 in reply, setting up a 168-run victory. Noor Hussain made 68 and Saikat Ali 61 for Bangladesh before Hussain took four for 11 as PNG were bowled out in 32.5 overs.

New Zealand beat England by two wickets with two balls to spare in a thriller at Village Green, Christchurch. Batting first, England reached 228 for nine, Jack Manuel making 43 but in reply New Zealand, bolstered by half-centuries from Carl Cachopa (64), Corey Anderson (50) and Logan van Beek (51 not out) gave the home fans something to cheer.

Pakistan are already into the final, where they will play Australia or Sri Lanka.
