Warwickshire all-rounder Chris Woakes has been ruled out of the remainder of England's tour of India with a thigh injury and has been replaced by Durham fast bowler Graham Onions.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Woakes suffered a left thigh strain during training between the first and second One-Day Internationals and will be returning home.

England lost the opening match by 126 runs and then slumped to an eight-wicket defeat in the second game although Woakes was involved in neither.

Onions, who last played an ODI for England in 2009 before he was sidelined by a serious back injury, will join up with the squad ahead of the fourth ODI in Mumbai on 23rd October.

England ODI squad for final two ODIs: Alastair Cook (captain), Jonathan Bairstow, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Scott Borthwick, Tim Bresnan, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn, Craig Kieswetter, Stuart Meaker, Graham Onions, Samit Patel, Kevin Pietersen, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott
