Young Worcestershire fast bowlers Jack Shantry and Richard Jones have been awarded two-year contract extensions which will keep Shantry at the club until the end of the 2013 season and Jones at New Road until the end of the 2012 season.
Shantry, 22, has taken more wickets than any other Worcestershire bowler bat two in all competitions this year and has excelled in one-day cricket while Jones, 23, has taken 38 first-class wickets including a six and seven-wicket haul at an average of 33.71 in 2010.
"Jack has made real progress this year in all formats of the game and has more than earned a new contract with us whilst Richard has developed well as a genuine quick bowler," Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said.
"His early season form was outstanding and he continues to learn the arts of his trade. Along with many of our other younger players, they have really gained from the amount of cricket they have played and both are model professionals. We look forward to them both making further progress in the years ahead."
