Worcestershire Ready For Local Twenty20 Derby

Worcestershire Ready For Local Twenty20 Derby

On Friday evening it won't be the sound of vuvuzelas that ring out through the crowds but the chant "I'd rather be a pear than a bear." That's right, Friday evening sees the next chapter of our Friends Provident t20 campaign unfold against sworn local rivals Warwickshire Bears.

Joining forces with Worcestershire Royals will be Sri Lankan cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya. Jayasuriya, famous for scoring 50 from just 17 balls, is hoping to wow the crowds with a twenty20 extravaganza. Make sure you're here to witness this momentous day for Worcestershire Royals!

To add to the entertainment we have the ICC World twenty20 trophy which was so jubilantly won by England back in May. The trophy will be at the ground between 15:00 and 19:00 for you to have your photo taken with. We also have cheerleaders from Spirals Dance Academy back with another dance spectacular during the interval along with Pte Derby, the 2nd Mercian Regiments official Mascot and the army displaying their combat wear.

To ensure that the twenty20 does not clash with the World Cup the game starts at 16:40 and is scheduled to finish at 19:25. So get down to New Road now for a sporting double header! Come and watch the not to be missed Royals v Bears match and then complete the evening in our Graeme Hick Pavilion watching England's World Cup match on the 72" screen in style.

Don't forget to download your Roary Royal mask from wccc.co.uk and wear it to the game!

If this isn't tantalising enough we have a special bonus for everyone who buys a ticket from 15th - end of June. When you buy a ticket for any of the remaining home Friends Provident twenty20 matches you will automatically be entered into a prize draw to win 2011 WCCC Premium Membership.

Tickets are still available for all our home remaining Friends Provident twenty20 matches and can be booked online using www.wccc.co.uk/ticketing or by calling our Ticket Hotline on 01905 337921.
