Worcestershire To Miss Pace Duo Once Again
Monday 14 May 2007Worcestershire go into their LV County Championship Division One match against Lancashire at Old Trafford without premier pace bowlers Doug Bollinger and Matt Mason.
Bollinger is still recovering from a torn side muscle and Matt Mason is sidelined after shoulder surgery.
Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said: "It's important that they don't come back too early because they could do themselves more damage.''
Dewald Nel, who was signed last week on a short term deal, is expected to retain his place following four wickets on debut against Yorkshire in an innings defeat.
Worcestershire have lost their opening three games and sit at the foot of the table with just 8 points.
The continued absence of their two front-line bowlers will make their task no easier, allied to the fact that Lancashire will be welcoming back Muttiah Muralitharan to their ranks for the match, which will be played from May 15th-18th.
