Worcestershire have announced the signing of Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal as their overseas player for the second part of the 2011 season.
Ajmal, who has played nine Tests, 35 One-Day Internationals and 29 Twenty20 Internationals, will take over from Australian Damien Wright.
"We're absolutely delighted to welcome Saeed to the Club," Director of Cricket Steve Rhodes said.
"He's a bowler of international stature and as a spinner with good variation he will be a crucial weapon during the latter part of the season, when the wickets notoriously begin to turn."
Ajmal added: "Worcestershire has a special standing in Pakistan due to its association with Imran Khan, and I am proud to be able to represent the same club as the great Imran."
Ajmal will join up with the club provided he receives a No Objection Certificate from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the required work permits.
