World Record Cricket Net Attempt - More Information

What do you do when your friend and team mate survives two brain tumours and walks back on to the cricket field in his whites?

Cheer him all the way to the crease?  Have a few pints with him in the bar afterwards?  Or do you decide to break a world record?

That’s what Dave Newman and Richard Wells of Billingborough Cricket Club in Lincolnshire made up their minds to do after fellow player Wayne Chessum came successfully through treatment.

So from 30th January to 1st February 2014, the pair will attempt to bat for 48 hours in the indoor nets at the Northgate Sports Centre in nearby Sleaford and in the process raise as much money as possible for Brain Tumour Research.

They are aiming to raise £10,000 in aid of Brain Tumour Research UK. Please view their Just Giving page here and have a read.
