Wrenthorpe retained their lead in Solly Central Yorkshire League Premier Division after beating Altofts by four wickets.
Greig Batty and Joe Ellis each took four for 39 as Altofts were restricted to 132 all out Opener Eric Austin then led Wrenthorpe to victory with 64.
Wrenthorpe are three points in front of New Farnley, who gained a crushing 169 run win over Hunslet Nelson. Benny Howell led the way with 104 not out and received good support from Montcin Hodge (51) and Joe Suggit (40) as Farnley totalled 246 for five. Hunslet were then bowled out for a mere 77 with David McCallum taking four for 11 while Howell completed a superb all-round performance by taking four for 20.
Townville also maintained their challenge with an eight wicket win at Birstall. Ritchie Bresnan, younger brother of England and Yorkshire all-rounder Tim, took four for 35 as Birstall were bowled out for 146 while Dean Woolsey took three for 38 and Wade Lezar two for 28. Jonathan Booth then led Townville to victory with 73.
Batley moved off the foot of the table with a tense, two run victory over fellow strugglers Wakefield Thornes. Fawad Maqsood with 57 and Mohammed Bashir 44 shared a 111-run stand as Batley totalled 213 for nine. Tornes were then dismissed for 211 when their last man Derek Colquhoun was run out with with one ball remaining.
Methley were in a strong position when their match against Mirfield Parish Cavaliers was called off. Chris Holland with 120 not out and Nick Connolly 118 shared a second wicket stand of 207 to enable Methley to declare on 259 for three. Cavaliers had struggled to 83 for five in 37.3 overs when the game abandoned because of rain.
