Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright will captain England Lions when they take on Bangladesh 'A' in three one-day games later this month.

The 12-man squad included three newcomers to the Lions squad in Northamptonshire all-rounder David Willey, Somerset fast bowler Jamie Overton and Sussex all-rounder Chris Jordan.

Both Overton and Willey have been part of England Performance Programme squads in the past, as has, Jordan and he is rewarded for a season in which he has already taken 50 first-class wickets.

Fresh from scoring a century against Lancashire in the Friends Life t20, Hampshire opener Michael Carberry makes the squad along with team-mates Danny Briggs and James Vince.

James Taylor, who was on standby to replace Kevin Pietersen during the third Ashes Test is also included along with Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Boyd Rankin, all of whom have also played international cricket.

Yorkshire's Gary Ballance, who was called up by England for the Twenty20 International series against New Zealand earlier in the summer, will also get another chance to impress.

The three matches will be played on 20th, 22nd and 24th August with the first match at Bristol and the remaining two games at Taunton.

"We are delighted to reward this Lions team with an opportunity to impress the selectors ahead of a number of forthcoming ODI series," National Selector Geoff Miller said.

"Many of this squad have been in or around England, Lions, EPP or PEPP squads before, so it is a great chance for them to push for places for the England ODI games later this summer and also this coming winter.

"Looking further ahead, we are also keen to build a strong platform for the 2015 World Cup, so opportunities such as this play a big part in giving the coaches an opportunity to assess the levels of these players first hand."

The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have also confirmed that the Lions will also take on Australia in a two-day game from 16th to 17th August after Northamptonshire, the scheduled opponents, reached the Friends Life t20 Finals Day.
