Things continue to go from bad to worse for England - already 4-0 down in their One-Day International series against Australia and missing Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff to injury, have suffered another blow when Luke Wright's participation in the fifth ODI at Trent Bridge on 15th September was ruled as doubtful.

The big-hitting Sussex all-rounder was hit on the toe during batting practice at Loughborough and required stitches afterwards.

Hampshire all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas has been called up as cover; England are resting Paul Collingwood and James Anderson and would have found their options limited without expanding the squad.

The sixth match is also at Trent Bridge, on 17th September.
