Spinners Tom Pringle and Dan Woods were the match winners as defending champions York beat Harrogate by 59 runs to move to the top of the Yorkshire ECB League for the first time this season.
The two bowlers took five wickets each, Pringle returning five for 36 and Wood five for 41 as Harrogate were bowled out for 163 in reply to York’s total of 220 for eight. Nick Kay was York’s top scorer with 66 while Alexis Twigg top scored for Harrogate with 48.
Sheffield United are still looking for their first win after going down by five wickets to Appleby Frodingham. They were dismissed for 88, but it would have been much worse had it not been for a ninth-wicket partnership of 46 between Dean Smith and Rory McInnes-Gibbons.
Jack Forrester (3-15) and David Brent (3-17) each took three wickets while Paul Hilton took two for 27.
Appleby Frodingham also struggled in reply and, at one stage, were reduced to 45 for five before Tom Brookes (25 not out) and Matt Fowler (21 not out) guided them to victory.
Ali Asad scored a century as Driffield beat Rotherham by 77 runs. Asad, whose 112 included 12 fours and one six, shared a fifth-wicket stand of 122 with Danny Broumpton (53) as Driffield totalled 295 for eight.
Gareth Purshouse (52) and James Moorhouse (51) scored half-centuries for Rotherham, who finished on 218-9.
Scarborough leapfrogged Castleford after beating them by four wickets on their opponents' own Savile Park ground.
Liam Hyde top scored with 61 in Castleford’s total of 171 for nine, but Scarborough gained a comfortable win thanks to a second-wicket stand of 98 between skipper Andy Simpson (72) and Darren Harland (43).
