Yorkshire CCC Wishes Simon Guy Well In Recovery

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club would like to pass on best wishes for a speedy recovery to Simon Guy. Simon, aged 30, underwent surgery for a Cerebral Abscess on 11th February and has been recuperating in Leeds General Infirmary over the last three weeks. The Club initially kept the news of Simon’s illness a private affair at the request of Simon and his family, but as news inevitably leaks out it was felt by everyone to be the right time to issue this statement.

Martyn Moxon, Yorkshire’s Director of Professional Cricket, said: “I am pleased to say that Simon is recovering well, however it will be a number of weeks before he is fit enough to play cricket again. The news of Simon’s illness was a real shock, particularly as he is such an incredibly fit individual. Simon has been at the Club, man and boy, and is a very popular figure at Headingley Carnegie. Everyone at the Club wishes him and his family well as he continues his recovery and we look forward to seeing him back here with us very soon.”
