Young Duo Sign New Derby Contracts

Derbyshire youngsters Dan Redfern and Paul Borrington have both signed new two-year contracts with the club.

Redfern, 17, and Borrington, 19, penned their new deals last night after both making promising contributions in the recent LV County Championship match against Northamptonshire.

Borrington impressed at the top of the order with his maiden first-class half-century on day one before Redfern looked equally impressive in scoring 43 the following day.

Both youngsters are a product of the Derbyshire County Cricket Club Academy and each of them made their first-class debuts at the age of 17.

Head of Cricket John Morris said: “I am delighted that both of these young players have committed their future to Derbyshire for at least the next two years.

“They have come through our Academy system with the guidance of Karl Krikken and I look forward to working with them through the next part of their careers.”
