Senior Pakistan batsman Younus Khan is to leave the West Indies days ahead of the first Test following the death of his brother Shamshad in Germany.

Press Trust of India reported that Younus, who was rested from the One-Day International series which Pakistan lost 3-2, has been granted leave to return home immediately.

"Younis is returning home today as unfortunately his elder brother, Shamshad Khan has passed away in Germany," they quoted a board official as saying.

It is not yet clear whether the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will name a replacement as the first Test begins on 12th May and the side has already begun a two-day warm-up match in Guyana.
