Yuvraj Singh has made a welcome return to an Indian national squad for the first time since his cancer diagnosis. It is understood that he is currently training in Bangalore and said that he believed Twenty20 cricket was the best format for him to make his cricketing comeback as he builds up his stamina following several gruelling rounds of chemotherapy.

Other interesting inclusions in India’s provisional 30-man squad for September’s World Twenty20 are the uncapped duo of Mandeep Singh and Ambati Rayudu. Singh had a successful IPL 2012 for Kings XI Punjab, finishing as tenth-highest overall run-scorer, while Rayudu was the second-highest run-scorer for his franchise
