Fast bowlers Zaheer Khan and Shanthakumaran Sreesanth have been recalled to India's Test squad to play Sri Lanka in a three-match series beginning on 16th November.
Zaheer has been unavailable due to a shoulder injury earlier this year while Sreesanth has not played a Test since April 2008, after which he has been involved in a number of controversial incidents and he spent time in England playing for Warwickshire.
With only one round of the Ranji Trophy, India's first-class domestic competition, completed, there was little opportunity for any other players to force their way in which means that Subramaniam Badrinath and Murali Vijay Krishna retain their places in the squad as reserve batsmen and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is named as a third spinner alongside Harbhajan Singh and Amit Mishra.
Ishant Sharma is the other fast bowler in the squad for matches in Ahmedabad, Kanpur and Mumbai. Sri Lanka will also play five One-Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals in India and they begin their tour with a match against the BCCI President's XI on 11th November.
India Test squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Subramaniam Badrinath, Rahul Dravid, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, VVS Laxman, Amit Mishra, Pragyan Ojha, Virender Sehwag, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Sachin Tendulkar, Murali Vijay Krishna, Yuvraj Singh, Zaheer Khan
