Zimbabwe have named a 32-man training squad ahead of their one-day tri-series against Australia A and South Africa A, calling up a number of uncapped players.

The tri-series gets underway on 26th June, after which the side will play two four-day games against Australia A as they begin to prepare for their return to Test cricket later this year.

The matches will be the first for the national team since they exited the 2011 World Cup at the group stage with only wins over Canada and Kenya to show for their efforts.

Ed Rainsford and Tinotenda Mawayo, who both suffered injuries either in the run-up to or during the World Cup, are back in contention although Sean Williams, who fractured his thumb during the tournament, misses out .

Brendan Taylor will continue to lead the squad for the matches in Harare as they look to build on a series of encouraging performances against Pakistan and Bangladesh since their return to Test cricket.
ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat has said he is encouraged following Zimbabwe's 'responsible' return to Test cricket, which has seen them take on Bangladesh in a one-off match in Harare. Lorgat is in Harare to watch the game and show his support for Zimbabwe's return following six years of voluntary withdrawal from playing Tests.
Brendan Taylor has been named as Zimbabwe's new captain and he will lead the side for their upcoming one-day tri-series hosting Australia 'A' and South Africa 'A'. "We have watched Taylor develop into a mature, experienced player and we stand fully behind him in his new role," Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) Managing Director Ozvias Bvute said.
