'Bowlers Are Blokes Who Can't Bat'

Leicestershire's Mark Cosgrove comes up with a tongue-in-cheek response to our question about whether Twenty20 cricket is becoming too much of a batsman's game.

He adds that they just need to "suck it up and get belted" as the 18 county teams prepare for a new season of Twenty20 cricket.

Cosgrove, who has scored 1,533 runs in 74 Twenty20 matches and played for Australia three times in One-Day International cricket, did at least concede that bowlers are improving as they play more T20 cricket.

"Bowlers are getting better each year," he said at the launch of the new NatWest T20 Blast season at Warwickshire's Edgbaston Stadium.

Cosgrove has signed for Leicestershire having previously played for Glamorgan between 2006 and 2011, and he jokes that bowlers have to accept that 160 is a par score at most grounds now, except at Taunton.
