Mumbai Indians opening batsman Aaron Finch is set to miss the rest of the 2015 Indian Premier League due to a torn hamstring.

Finch who sustained the injury during the match against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday took to the social network twitter to express his disappointment.

"Looks like I'll be out of the rest of IPL at this stage,” tweeted Finch.

“The scan showed a bit of damage, absolutely shattered!”

The 28-year-old hurt was forced to retire hurt on 10 after hurting his left hamstring while completing a single.

Visibly pained by the injury, the opening batsman was carried off the field by the support staff of the Mumbai Indians team.

Further scans on Wednesday afternoon showed complications which means that Finch will be sidelined for a minimum of six weeks.

Finch had a woeful time in the tournament accumulating a mere 23 runs from three matches.

Having lost all their matches in the tournament so far, Mumbai Indians next take on Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.
