AB de Villiers to decide on his future in August
South Africa captain AB de Villiers stated that he will decide on his future in August after having a discussion with Cricket South Africa.
The 33-year-old has been picking and choosing series to prolong his career until the 2019 World Cup and his last appearance in the Test format came way back in January 2016.
De Villiers, who led the Proteas in the One-Day International and Twenty20 International series against England has headed back home, missing out on yet another Test series.
Also under his captaincy, South Africa also failed to reach the semi-final of the recently concluded Champions Trophy campaign, drawing further criticisms.
"I am going to meet with CSA (Cricket South Africa) in August, and that will decide my (international) future," said de Villiers.
"We will see what works for both parties.
"We are not going to pick and choose games, but we are going to make a final decision about what happens for the next few years."
Following the four-match Test series in England, South Africa are set to host Bangladesh in two Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is.
