Adam Voges describes BBL|10 preparation as 'unique'

The Perth Scorchers continued to fine-tune their preparation for the 2020-21 KFC Big Bash League with a intra-squad practice match on Thursday night under lights at the WACA Ground.

There were plenty of positives for head coach Adam Voges to take from it ahead of next Saturday’s opener against the Melbourne Renegades at Blundstone Arena.

Ashton Turner came out firing with bat in hand and spent valuable time in the middle, smacking 41 runs off just 16 deliveries. He was well-supported by allrounder Aaron Hardie who whacked 40 runs off 25 balls.

The pair produced 13 boundaries between them, including four sixes.

Hardie also claimed four wickets, Joel Paris took three, and on return from injury Jason Behrendorff and Jhye Richardson took two apiece, displaying the depth of the Scorchers’ bowling unit ahead of BBL10.

Final Score: Perth Scorchers 7-235 (20) def. Western Australia 10-163 (20)

The Scorchers travel to Tasmania mid next week where they will link up with all other members of the squad for the season ahead.

Tickets go on sale to the public at 10:00am on Tuesday 8 December.
