Adams, Ervine centuries propel Hampshire to 294 for three

Sean Ervine and Jimmy Adams scored unbeaten centuries for Hampshire as they recovered from 31 for three to end the day at 294 without losing further wickets against Warwickshire on day one of the County Championship Division One encounter in Southampton.
Hampshire won the toss and decided to bat first. However, it was not easy going for them as Keith Barker (2-62) removed Michael Carberry (2) and Rilee Rossouw (17) while Boyd Rankin (1-49) had George Bailey (2) caught.
By the end of 10th over, Hampshire were struggling at 31 for three but the decisive partnership came from Ervine (160 not out) and Adams (104 not out).
Ervine was the aggressor among the two as his runs came at a strike rate of 60 and had 15 boundaries in it while Adams managed to reach his milestone at the stroke of stumps.
The duo shared an unbeaten 263 run stand to take Hampshire to 294 for three at the end of 96 overs.
