Ziaur Rahman's devastating spell led the way in Khost Province beating Balkh Province by six wickets in the Afghanistan Provincial Challenge Cup 2020.

At the Khost Cricket Stadium in Khost, Khost Province elected to field.  It paid immediate dividends as Rahman struck regular blows to dent the Balkh top-order. Rahman's five for 43 was backed by Haseebullah's three for 28 and Noor Ahmad (2-10).

For Balkh, Abdul Razaq (45: 87b, 5x4, 1x6) was the best batsman with only captain Asadullah Matani (25) providing any kind of support.

The chase for Khost was scripted by the openers Rahim Mangal (38: 61b, 6x4) and Naveed Obaid who shared a 52 run stand. Later, there were regular contributions were from other batsmen. Mohammadullah (28 n.o.) was the man who carried Khost past the target. For Balkh the only bowler to create any impact was Asadullah Matani (2-31).
