Afghanistan 75-0 (Shahzad 52no) beat
Ireland 71 (Nabi 4-10) by 10 wickets
Final, Desert T20 Challenge, Abu Dhabi

After a four-wicket haul from Mohammad Nabi helped Afghanistan dismiss Ireland for 71 runs, Mohammad Shahzad scored a blistering fifty to complete the chase with 10 wickets in hand to win the final of the Desert T20 Challenge in Abu Dhabi.

Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first. Apart from Paul Stirling (17) and Greg Thompson (10), no other batsmen manage to cross the double figure mark.

Nabi (4-10), Amir Hamza (2-15), Fareed Ahmad (2-20) and Karim Janat (2-14) were the wicket takers as Ireland were dismissed for 71 in 13.2 overs.

In response, Shahzad (52 not out) got Afghanistan off to a blistering start. He smashed nine boundaries and a six in his 40-ball knock and was supported by Nawroz Mangal (17 not out) at the other end.

In the overall 47 deliveries, Mangal faced just eight deliveries but Shahzad's knock was enough for Afghanistan to complete the chase with 10 wickets in hand and seal the Desert T20 Challenge tournament.

Nabi bagged both the player of the match as well as the player of the series awards.
