The Africa Cricket Association Cup was in the works for some time now but either due to the pandemic or some logistical difficulties, it hadn't been able to see the light of day till now.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has finally succeeded in getting everything in order with eight African teams all set to take part in the inaugural edition of the Africa T20 Cup, also approved by Africa Cricket Association (ACA).

Africa Cricket Association Cup 2022 will be played at Willowmoore Park Cricket Stadium and the adjacent grounds in Guateng, Benoni.

The top three teams qualifying from the regional tournaments (Western and Southern) will join Kenya and Uganda (Eastern) in the 8-nation tournament, with Group A comprising teams from Uganda, Botswana, Ghana and Mozambique, while Group B consists of teams from Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon and Malawi.

Africa Cricket Association Cup 2022 will follow a single round-robin format, at the end of which, the top two teams from each group will go head to head in the knock-out stages of the inaugural edition of ACA Africa T20 Cup.
