African Premier League 2021 (APL 2021) is a new six team T20 tournament that is scheduled to be played in Nairobi, Kenya from March 25 to April 10 2021 and will feature 33 T20 matches.
The inaugural competition will prove a showcase for the best emerging talent in Kenyan cricket, with T20 specialists from other African nations, also taking part.
The Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association will hold complete responsibility to organize the tournament in resonance with the Kenyan Covid-19 restrictions and the set of rules and protocols laid down by the association. No spectators will be allowed to attend the cricket matches throughout the tournament.
An Anti-Corruption Team will also be appointed to ensure the integrity of the tournament. The team will be reporting directly to the association.

The African Premier League will also provide great match practice for the Kenyan National players, along with the domestic talent, before the upcoming World T20 qualifier and Challenge League action. Having last played in the Challenge League competition back in December 2019, Kenya are scheduled to play in Jersey in the Challenge League Group B.
Teams contesting the league, which will be played at Nairobi’s Ruaraka Sports Club, are Mombasa Rhinos, Eldoret Elephants, Nairobi Lions, Kisumu Pythons, Nakuru Leopards and Thika Hippos.
